Marisa and Alyssa, kindred spirits met at a Marketing + Business Conference and became instant friends. They share a passion for inspiring creativity and helping fellow creatives build a successful businesses of their own.

Alyssa Van Guilder is the Founder and Creative Director of Apotheca Flowers, a 7 figure brick and mortar flower business she started 15 years ago as a single mom. Apotheca was chosen as the top retail florist by WFFSA and Florist Review Magazine. Earthy, elegant and textural Apotheca is renowned for their wedding and event work throughout New England. Alyssa is also a mentor and coach to other flower loving creatives in business through her Botanical Business Society. Her designs have been featured in People Magazine, the Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Where Women Create.

Marisa Anne Cummings is an L.A. based artist, designer and founder of Creative Thursday. A small intention to be more creative one day a week while working a 9 to 5 job… Creative Thursday grew into a full time business that is home to Marisa’s art, podcast, YouTube interview series, blog and book of the same name. Passionate about encouraging others to live a life they love, especially creatively, Marisa also coaches Artists in Business and is the founder of an ongoing community of Creative Professionals she mentors, The Expansive Artists. 

Her art sells worldwide and can be found in her own online boutique at creativethursday.com. Featured in television and film, Marisa’s work has been highlighted on The Today Show, Martha Stewart Living, Mollie Makes, Where Women Create and has sold in galleries and shops including Urban Outfitters, Crate and Barrel Kids, Target, Pottery Barn Kids and Papyrus. 

With a love for color + pattern + sewing, Marisa also designed 9 fabric collections, and her book “Creative Thursday – Everyday Inspiration to Grow Your Creative Practice” was published in 4 languages.
